Cave Art INteractive

Pat Bradley collaborated with The Field Museum and Elumenati to create a 270 degree interactive video projection for The Field Museum’s Mammoths and Mastodons exhibition. This virtual cave explains different theories about the meaning of ancient cave art through interactive games and animated stories.

Elumenati created t
he projection system and programmed the game engine and Pat created the animated assets of the game, and with the help of his colleague Tom Moore, the virtual cave itself.  The animated stories explain four theories about the meaning of the ancient art; Clan Totems, Mythological stories, Shamanic Visions and Hunting rituals.  The animations needed to be created in a circular format, in order to look correct when played through the projector’s custom lens.  The style of the animation reflects the simple abstract nature of the original ancient cave art.
